Outdoor advertising, when done correctly, is a fantastic way to increase footfall into your establishment or to attract attention at an outdoor event such as an alfresco trade show, summer fair, country show or festival.
But what types of display are available and which is the best for your organisation?
Promotional Flags
Promotional flags are an eye-catching addition to any establishment that wants to heighten their visibility outdoors.
Feather flags come with a number of different base types including water or sand-fillable options for extra strength outdoors.
Lamp Post Banners
You can also use lamp post banners to help your business stand out, as their large size can attract attention from afar or alert passing drivers to your presence.
The double sided PVC graphics for lamp post banners are strong and durable and look great attached to a variety of pole dimensions.
Pavement Signs
A pavement sign is best for a permanent display outside an establishment. They come in a variety of styles, with many able to house changeable posters for different marketing messages.
The most popular design of these are A-board pavement signs which are a sturdy option for a traditional display.
Custom Printed Marquees
Custom printed marquees and gazebos are a great way to shelter visitors at outdoor events. With closed or open sides and easy pop up frame, these gazebos can be assembled anywhere at a moment’s notice.
These look professional and inviting and are great for product launches, summer fairs, country shows or just as an area for customers to sample your products.
Advertising Banners
These advertising banners can be customised in their shape and size to represent your service or product. They can be fixed to railings, barriers or can be supplied with a metal frame for a freestanding display.
You can choose between fabric banners or PVC banner printing up to 50 metres wide, these banners are wind and water-proof and are suitable for alfresco trade shows or as a permanent outdoor display.
Outdoor Banner Stands
Outdoor banner stands, such as the Arctic outdoor banner stand consists of a water or sand-fillable base onto which a weatherproof graphic is attached.
These have the benefit of being suited for indoor use as well, so could be best for you if you exhibit at both indoor and outdoor marketing events.
What to Look for In an Outdoor Stand
Weather-Proof Graphics: Not all print materials are suitable for display outdoors, so make sure your graphics are printed on a durable PVC, knitted fabric or rigid materials such as foamex board or aluminium.
Heavy Base/ Fixing: Indoor stands will easily blow over as the base is designed for easy portability. An outdoor stand should have a water or sand-fillable base or a fixing that can be attached to a solid object. These requirements will give the stand extra strength in windy conditions so make sure your stand always has this available.
Wind-tested: Most outdoor advertising solutions should be wind-tested in accordance with the Beaufort scale. If you are in a particularly windy area, be careful to check your display’s rating against the wind speed in your area. Most flags and lamp post banners will not be designed for extremely windy conditions so make sure you take them down in high winds as they could become dangerous for your staff and other pedestrians.
Design Considerations For Outdoor Stands
As with all of our exhibition stands, we can design your branded graphics for you, however if you have artwork ready you can design your own.
As outdoor displays will be outside in bad weather, you may want to have a fairly minimalist design consisting of your logo and some company branding rather than a large amount of small text which may be difficult to read in windy and rainy conditions.
